Lions, Lady Lions to kick off region play Friday

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   Franklin County High School’s basketball teams will be on the road Friday in Toccoa to start Region 8AAA play. The Lion and Lady Lions will meet rival Stephens County in their first region contests.

Lions finishing up tough non-region slate

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   The results of a tough early-season schedule faced by the Franklin County Lions will begin coming in next week. The Lions will open Region 8AAA play Jan. 7 at Stephens County. Once the region schedule begins, there are no more non-region games on the Lions’ slate.

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   The Franklin County Lions will face the No. 1 team in Class AA Monday in a tournament in Hart County. Franklin will tipoff against the Elbert County Lady Devils at 1 p.m. at Hart County High School. But the Lady Lions will go into the game playing well.

Rutledge signs to play for Middle Tennessee State

Basketball teams to honor senior players Friday

Franklin County’s basketball teams will honor its senior members Friday during Senior Night ceremonies. Seniors will be honored between the girls’ and boys’ games against Rabun County. Lion seniors are Keez Roebuck, David Witcher, Jontavion Hughes, Dane Burton and Keylan Rutledge.
