Wrestlers to compete for area duals title

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   The Franklin County High School wrestling team will compete Saturday in the Area 8AAA duals tournament at Oconee County High School in Watkinsville. Competition will begin at 10:15 a.m. with quarterfinal matches. Semifinals will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Lions, Lady Lions to kick off region play Friday

Lions finishing up tough non-region slate

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   The results of a tough early-season schedule faced by the Franklin County Lions will begin coming in next week. The Lions will open Region 8AAA play Jan. 7 at Stephens County. Once the region schedule begins, there are no more non-region games on the Lions’ slate.

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   The Franklin County Lions will face the No. 1 team in Class AA Monday in a tournament in Hart County. Franklin will tipoff against the Elbert County Lady Devils at 1 p.m. at Hart County High School. But the Lady Lions will go into the game playing well.

Rutledge signs to play for Middle Tennessee State
