By Shane Scoggins Publisher   Two Franklin County Lady Lions were honored on a statewide level last week. Senior Jayden Gailey was named first-team All-State after a vote of the region-winning coaches in the state. Junior Journey Roberts made the second-team All-State squad.

Improving Lady Lions beat Lanier for second time

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   Coach Chad Bridges has seen improvement in his Franklin County Lady Lions during the young 2021-22 basketball season. The team is learning to understand what the coaches want during games, he said.

Lions hit the road for first time this season

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   The Franklin County Lions will face their first two official road games Friday and Tuesday. The Lions opened the season at the Jefferson Tip Off Tournament, where they faced the host team, but tournaments are considered neutral sites.

Morale boosters: Lady Lions win back-to-back games to improve to 2-3

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   After a slow start to the season, the Franklin County Lady Lions have won two straight games and continue to improve. Franklin defeated Seneca, S.C., 64-42, following up a 43-40 win over Lanier Saturday.

Lions prep for February with tough early schedule

Lions to host pair of home matches next week

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   The Franklin County Lion wrestling team will wrap up its home schedule with a pair of meets next week in the wrestling gym on Busha Road in Carnesville. Franklin will host Stephens County and Habersham Central Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Tip off: Franklin starts seasons in Jefferson tournament

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   The Franklin County Lions and Lady Lions will hold their home openers for the 2021-22 basketball season Tuesday with Seneca, S.C., coming to Carnesville. Game times will be 6 p.m. for the Lady Lions and 7:30 p.m. for the boys.
