Davis signs to cheer for Piedmont Lions

FCHS track teams log top finishes at quad meet

The Franklin County High School track teams ran in a quad meet Tuesday at Stephens County. Franklin, Stephens, Hart County and Morgan County competed.

Franklin to host Stephens for key games

The Franklin County Lion and Lady Lion soccer teams led by Max Bridges and Claire Halder will host Stephens County Tuesday in key games in the race for the playoffs in Region 8AAA. The girls’ game will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Ed Bryant Stadium, with the boys’ game to follow at 7:30 p.m.

Region 'urgency': Lions seek to step up game as 8AAA schedule looms

Lions post strong finishes at 12th Eagle Invitational

Franklin County High School’s track teams competed against 11 opponents from Northeast Georgia and Atlanta in the 12th annual Eagle Invitational in Commerce. The Lions came home with several top 10 finishes in the meet. Keylan Rutledge led Franklin with a second-place finish in shot put.

Full team of Lions aim to meet tennis goals

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   A full pride of Franklin County Lions is just now hitting the tennis court. The team has posted a 3-3 overall record and 2-2 mark in Region 8AAA without four players who joined the team late due to the success of FCHS’ winter sports teams.

Lady Lions continue to improve on court

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   The Franklin County Lady Lions tennis team is still a work in progress in 2022, but the squad has shown steady improvement and played well, Coach Kellie Justice said.
Seniors  Jontavion “Jo Jo” Hughes, David Witcher, Dane Burton, Keylan “Red” Rutledge and Keez Roebuck “cared about each other and enjoyed being together,” Coach Jason Shaver said.

‘Legacy’: Senior-led Lions fall in Class AAA playoffs

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   The 2021-22 Franklin County Lions basketball team didn’t make it as far in the state playoffs as other teams in school history. But Head Coach Jason Shaver said the squad – led by five seniors – will still leave a legacy for the program moving forward.
