Renovations to Ed Bryant Stadium began the day after graduation in May, with the removal of the grass playing surface. Workers then graded several inches of dirt from the field and spread loads of gravel before the playing surface was installed in pieces.
The 1992 Franklin County Lions football team made the state quarterfinals and was the most successful in school history.
