Lady Lions host region tournament

Franklin Fastpitch finished fourth in the region, falling to Hebron Christian Academy in the third-place game this afternoon. The Lady Lions first faced Oconee County at noon today, losing 4-2, then battled Hebron Christian to a 6-5 final score.

Happy hosting duties: Franklin Fastpitch secures No. 1 seed, home field for 8AAA tourney

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   Franklin Fastpitch will host the Region 8AAA tournament for the second year in a row. The Lady Lions secured the No. 1 seed in and the right to host the tournament by finishing their 8AAA schedule with a first-place record of 9-1.

Cubs to host region semifinal Wednesday

The Franklin County Middle School Cubs will host the region playoff football semifinals Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Jeff Davis Field at Ed Bryant Stadium. The Cubs will look to avenge their only loss of the year against Habersham County.
The FCMS boys claimed the NEGIAA region boys’ team championship for possibly the first time in school history, while Savannah Jackson claimed the girl’s individual title.

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   The Region 8AAA schedule will start a day early for the Franklin County Lions. Franklin’s contest at Hart County has been moved to today in order to beat the heavy rain and high winds expected Friday from the remnants of Hurricane Ian.

Cubs clinch spot in region football playoffs

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   The Franklin County Middle School Cubs are going back to the region playoffs for the second straight year. The Cubs dominated Elbert County 27-0 Thursday to clinch a spot in the NEGIAA playoffs, which begin Oct. 12.

‘Pass it back’: Lady Lions continue to dominate region foes
