CARNESVILLE – The city of Carnesville’s plans for a splash pad at its park took another step forward Tuesday. The Carnesville City Council – meeting in the City Hall parking lot due to coronavirus precautions – voted unanimously to accept a federal grant to help pay for half of the splash pad.

Franklin County’s number of confirmed coronavirus cases may not be as high as originally thought. For nearly a week, the Georgia Department of Public Health reported five confirmed cases of the virus in people from Franklin County. That changed on Monday, when the state health department’s 7 p.m.

LAVONIA – The Lavonia City Council has declared a state of emergency for those in the city limits for the next 45 days due to the coronavirus pandemic. The council met in the parking lot of city hall Friday afternoon to vote unanimously on the declaration.

CARNESVILLE – Every household in Franklin County should have been received a packet from the U.S. Census by now. April 1 was Census Day and observed nationwide.  By April 1, every home was to receive an invitation to participate in the 2020 Census.
