'We are one:' Royston leaders gathers to discuss racism

ROYSTON – Leaders of several Royston area churches, city officials and law enforcement heads held a public meeting June 12 at the Royston Wellness and Community Park to discuss concerns over racism and policing that have roiled the nation.

CARNESVILLE – Graduation for the Franklin County High School Class of 2020 will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. in Ed Bryant Stadium. Due to social distancing rules and regulations, seniors will receive five tickets for family and friends.

CARNESVILLE – A recount of ballots in the race for Franklin County sheriff will begin Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the Franklin County Elections and Registration Office at 7850 Royston Road in Carnesville.

Few problems reported with voting in Franklin

CARNESVILLE – While reports of long-lines and problems operating voting equipment abounded in the Atlanta area Tuesday, the primary elections in Franklin County had few problems, local elections officials said. “I think it’s gone really well,” Elections Supervisor Gina Kesler said Tuesday evening.

Delayed Election Day finally arrives

CARNESVILLE – The delayed party primary election will finally arrive Tuesday at polling places across the county. Tuesday’s election will include races for local Franklin County posts, some state and federal races and the presidential preference primary.
