CARNESVILLE – Franklin County honored a man Monday who gave his life in the service of its citizens. Franklin County Commissioners held a special recognition to honor Sheriff’s Deputy William “Bill” Garner, who was killed in the line of duty July 19.

CARNESVILLE – Franklin County Manager Beth Thomas has sent a letter urging Atlanta’s television stations and the Dish Network and DirectTV satellite companies to finish a process to allow Franklin County satellite TV customers access to the Atlanta stations.
Franklin County trails the national average in filling out and returning 2020 Census forms. Areas in yellow and darker blue in the county have returned more forms that areas in light blue.

CARNESVILLE – Franklin County officials are urging residents to fill out their U.S. Census form. The latest information from the U.S. Census Bureau shows that 52.2 percent of Franklin County residents have responded to the Census.

CARNESVILLE – The Franklin County Board of Education will hold the first of three public hearings tonight concerning a proposed increase in its millage rate. The school board has advertised its intent to raise the millage rate to 17 mills, an increase of 1.213 mills from last year.

CARNESVILLE – Franklin County Commissioners voted 4-1 Tuesday to approve a building inspection program that has been in the works for more than two years. The vote came after a final hearing that brought questions, opposing views and some support. The inspections program will go into effect Sept.
The total number of confirmed cases in Franklin County reached 300 Tuesday. The new milestone in cases comes during the same week that two more deaths were reported by the Georgia Department of Public Safety.

Franklin County has hit a new milestone in the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The total number of confirmed cases in Franklin County reached 300 Tuesday. The new milestone in cases comes during the same week that two more deaths were reported by the Georgia Department of Public Safety.
