Commissioners ban burning of cross ties, waste

Burning railroad ties and other kinds of waste products by industries is now banned in Franklin County. County commissioners voted 4-1 Monday to amend its zoning law for commercial-industrial uses to prohibit the burning of railroad ties and waste products.
