Franklin to host Bill Woods meets

Lady Lions make short work of East Jackson in Region 8AA opener

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   Franklin Fastpitch needed just three and a half innings Tuesday to finish of a victory in the team’s Region 8AA opener against East Jackson in Carnesville. Franklin won 16-2 as they dominated offensively and in the pitcher’s circle.

The Franklin County Lions opened the 2024 football season Friday with a close 27-21 loss to Chestatee at Jeff Davis Field at Ed Bryant Stadium. The game began with the recognition of football players and cheerleaders from the Franklin County Recreation Department, who lined up to welcome Keyes Harbin (No. 33) and his Lion teammates.

Dampened debut

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   Weather wasn’t a factor in the outcome of Friday night’s football season-opener between the Franklin County Lions and Chestatee War Eagles at Jeff Davis Field at Ed Bryant Stadium in Carnesville. But it proved to be an indication of the Lions’ fortunes.

Lady Lions get break after busy start to year

Lions to host War Eagles in opener

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   The Franklin County Lions will welcome the Chestatee War Eagles to Jeff Davis Field at Ed Bryant Stadium for the 2024 football season opener Friday, with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. There are many similarities between the squads.

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   The Franklin County Lady Lions are off to a strong start to the 2024 fastpitch softball season. After its scheduled season opener was rained out Thursday, Franklin Fastpitch dispatched Oconee County 11-3 Monday in Carnesville.

High school adds boulder to campus in front of stadium

From staff reports   CARNESVILLE – A new, rock solid tradition was delivered to Franklin County High School Saturday morning. Georgia Stone Products in Carnesville delivered a four-and-a-half ton boulder to the FCHS campus. The new stone was set up in an island in front of Ed Bryant Stadium.
