Sliding into a season of change

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   The 2024 season will be one of change for the Franklin County Lady Lions. While the program itself isn’t changing a lot, state reclassification and the changes it has brought will put Franklin Fastpitch in a much different atmosphere. Region 8AAA is gone.

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   Franklin County High School graduate D.J. Seymour will continue his golf career at Toccoa Falls College. Seymour signed with the brand-new Toccoa Falls men’s golf team in a ceremony Thursday on the college campus.
Eli Morris, who has family in Franklin County, competed in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials for track and field in the 110 meter hurdles after an accomplished career at Baylor University and the University of Arkansas.

By Charlie Eavenson Staff Writer   K.J. Jones, a standout basketball player for Emmanuel University, has signed a contract with the Brooklyn Nets of the NBA, to play in a 10-game summer exhibition league.  Jones went undrafted in the recent NBA draft.

FCHS Cheer squads shine at FCA Camp

The Franklin County High School cheerleading squads brought home a number of awards from FCA Cheer Camp held recently at Emmanuel University. Riley Adams won the Heart of an Athlete Award and was chosen as an instructor for next year’s camp.
