By Shane Scoggins Publisher   Franklin County High School graduate D.J. Seymour will continue his golf career at Toccoa Falls College. Seymour signed with the brand-new Toccoa Falls men’s golf team in a ceremony Thursday on the college campus.
Eli Morris, who has family in Franklin County, competed in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials for track and field in the 110 meter hurdles after an accomplished career at Baylor University and the University of Arkansas.

By Charlie Eavenson Staff Writer   K.J. Jones, a standout basketball player for Emmanuel University, has signed a contract with the Brooklyn Nets of the NBA, to play in a 10-game summer exhibition league.  Jones went undrafted in the recent NBA draft.

FCHS Cheer squads shine at FCA Camp

The Franklin County High School cheerleading squads brought home a number of awards from FCA Cheer Camp held recently at Emmanuel University. Riley Adams won the Heart of an Athlete Award and was chosen as an instructor for next year’s camp.
The 2023-24 Franklin County High School Dancing Pride competed in the team’s first nationals competition at the Southeast Showdown in North Carolina over the weekend.

The 2023-24 Franklin County High School Dancing Pride competed in the team’s first nationals competition at the Southeast Showdown in North Carolina over the weekend. The group walked away with a High Platinum award for their lyrical performance.

Franklin County High School anglers Brody Kellum and Carson Thompson finished eighth out of 31 teams in the 15th High School Fishing World Finals and National Championship on Lake Hartwell. Kellum and Thompson caught 8 pounds, 11 ounces  in the final round.

The Franklin County Little League 9-11 year old team won the District 7 championship Sunday in Crawford. Franklin defeated Rabun County in back-to-back games to earn the title. Franklin won 11-1 and 15-0 to claim the title.
