Franklin County’s five cities will sign up candidates for their 2023 elections in two weeks.

A divided Franklin County Board of Education decided to roll back its millage rate completely to 14.471 mills in order to keep the total revenue from local property taxes the same as last year.

Children will have the chance to play in a foam canon Saturday as part of Lavonia’s second annual Hippie Fest.

Franklin County commissioners voted Monday to settle a lawsuit with developers who wanted to build a townhome development near Exit 160 on I-85.

The Franklin County Health Department will be closed next week due to renovations. Beginning Aug. 21, services will be moved to other locations.
