Franklin County High School hosted its first track meet in four years Saturday at the newly-renovated track at Ed Bryant Stadium.

Senior Dee Oliver returns at shortstop for the 2023 Franklin County Lions, as they seek another strong season.

The Franklin County Middle School seventh grade Cubs won the NEGIAA region championship with a victory Saturday in the title game against Stephens County. Members of the team are Sam Shaver, Isaiah Harris, Elliot Harbin, Patrez Gary, Eli Moore, Knox Whitworth, KeWontae Riley, Drake Nix, Kamryn Kellar, Kamarrian Barnes, Will Swinney, Chase Spears and Laithen Barnes. The team is coached by A.J. Ricci with assistants Keez Roebuck and Dawson Dean.
