Franklin, Hebron tangle for top seed today

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   Franklin Fastpitch will play its most important game of the year thus far today in Dacula. The Lady Lions, 8-0 and leading the Region 8AAA standings, will travel to Hebron Christian Academy, the No. 2 team in the region with a 6-1 record.

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   The Franklin County Lions are now half-way through their 2023 football season. All of the non-region games are past, and only Region 8AAA contests remain after a week off this Friday night for the Lioins. Franklin is 1-4 on the season.

Lady Lions alone atop region standings

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   Late in the second half of the Franklin County Lions’ game against Banks County Friday night, Brady Simms bent over with his hands on his knees. His fatigue was obvious. A few plays later, the Lions’ senior running back was slow getting up after being tackled.

Rutledge named captain, on Outland Trophy watch list

Franklin County’s Keylan Rutledge will help lead the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders against the mighty Alabama Crimson Tide Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Rutledge, a 2022 graduate of FCHS, has been named one of Middle Tennessee’s four permanent captains for the 2023 season.
