By Shane Scoggins Publisher   Six Franklin County runners ran in the Georgia Middle School State Cross Country Championships Saturday in Cochran, and one Lady Cub posted the program’s best-ever finish in the event.
The Lions and Lady Lions had strong showings at their final home meet of the season Thursday at the Franklin County course on High Road. The Lions won the team title at Thursday’s race.

The Cubs defeated Rabun 30-0 to advance to the NEGIAA region championship game next week against either Hart County or Madison County, who will meet today in the other region semifinal.

From staff reports   Fourteen high school bands – made up of more than 900 students – from across Georgia and hundreds of their fans and families descended on Jeff Davis Field at Ed Bryant Stadium Saturday for the first Pridelands Marching Contest.
