Lions finish as state track runners-up

The Franklin County Lion baseball team defeated rival Stephens County last week to advance to the state semfinals. The team swarmed Ty Peeples (above right photo) after he scored the winning run in the first game against the Indians.

Lions advance to state’s second round, will travel to face Burke County today

By Shane ScogginsPublisher For the fifth year in a row, the Franklin County Lions have earned a berth in the Sweet 16 round of the state playoffs.
In taking the gold medal, Kamorrian Barnes tied the state’s middle school high jump record with a 6’0” jump Saturday morning at the Georgia Middle School State Championship track meet. The record has been in place since 2011. He also won the 300 meter hurdles.

FCHS golf qualifies for state; Stephenson wins low medalist

From staff reports Franklin County High School’s golf teams qualified for state competition Tuesday with strong finishes – including a low medalist honor – in the Area 4AA tournament at Cateechee Golf club in Hartwell.The Lady Lions finished second in the team tournament to qualify for state.
