Gibson signs to play baseball at East Georgia

By Shane ScogginsPublisher ATLANTA – Franklin County Lion Ty Peeples was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the Major League Baseball draft held Sunday and Monday.Peeples, a 2025 graduate of Franklin County High School, was chosen in the 20th round as pick No. 592.

All Stars win 4th District 7 title

From staff reports Franklin County’s 12 and Under All Star team won its fourth consecutive District 7 Little League championship July 4.The team swept the District tournament in Hartwell with wins over Elbert County (13-3), Rabun County (12-1) and Hart County (12-2) to make the championship series.
Franklin County Little League’s 9-11 All-Star team won the District 7 championship and will begin play in the state tournament July 5. Team members are Christopher McLendon, Dank Crane, Karson Adams, Will Oliver, Gavin Harris, Hayden Harvey, Greyson Stovall, Wyatt Veal, Rhett Davison, Brentley Hewatt and Teller Cabe. Cody Oliver is the team’s manager, and Galen Adams and Will Cabe are coaches.

Franklin All-Star squads claim District 7 titles

Three Franklin County Little League All-Star teams have won Georgia District 7 championships.The 9-11 Baseball Team won the District title by sweeping its tournament games.Franklin defeated Toccoa twice, by scores of 9-3 and 12-2, and Rabun County 8-4.

From staff reports Franklin County High School Lady Lion golfer Emily Minish has been named to the Class AA All-State Golf Team.Minish was one of eight golfers to be chosen for the squad.The All-State selection comes after a stellar senior season at FCHS.
