Sheriff’s office mourns 36-year Deputy Billy White

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   ROYSTON – Members of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said goodbye Saturday to William “Billy” Josephus White, who passed away April 22 at the age of 91. White, also known as J.J., served as a deputy for 36 years under six sheriffs or interim sheriffs.

Early voting begins Monday

From staff reports   CARNESVILLE – Early voting for the May 24 state and local primaries begins Monday and will run through May 20. Voting will be held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Franklin County Elections and Registration Office at 7850 Royston Road in Carnesville.
