By Samantha Sinclair Staff Writer   LAVONIA — Ashton Cooper had a 4.0 when he graduated from Franklin County High School four years ago, and is once again graduating with a 4.0, this time from the University of Georgia on Friday.

Carnesville to open splash pad with Fun Day Saturday

CARNESVILLE – A fun day in the water will be held Saturday in Carnesville. The city will officially open its splash pad for the season with a Fun Day event Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. at Carnesville City Park.
A map that shows the current zoning of the county under a new Unified Development Code (key to colors at right) has been unveiled by Franklin County. Officials are seeking any corrections to the map before a May 19 hearing before the Planning Commission.
