By Shane Scoggins Publisher   CARNESVILLE – A delay in a 911 call to help a Franklin County woman who later died was due to the call first reaching a cell phone tower in South Carolina. Phil Rice of Lavonia told commissioners March 29 that his wife collapsed on March 6 and couldn’t breath.

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   With political campaigns in full-swing again in Franklin County, more yard signs than normal are popping up. County Marshal Freddy Akins is encouraging candidates and supporters to make sure that their signs are displayed legally.

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   CARNESVILLE – Increasing lot sizes for large subdivisions may backfire in managing housing growth, Franklin County’s planning director said Tuesday, but other regulations already planned may work.
