Royston man took message of beginning of Korean War

By Samantha Sinclair Staff Writer   ROYSTON — At just about midnight on June 25, 1950, the tapping started. A message was coming through, and Roy Gandy was the only radioman on night duty in the radio room for Fleet Air Wing One stationed in Guam.

From staff reports   LAVONIA – A Franklin County company that makes supplies for the heating and air industry is investing $4.5 million to expand its operations in the Gerrard Road industrial park.
The Lavonia City Council gave initial approval for the annexation of the property Monday night, and approved zoning for B-3, heavy industrial district, without restrictions the city’s planning and zoning commission recommended.
