By Shane Scoggins Publisher   CARNESVILLE – Tuesday is Election Day. Franklin County voters will go to the polls and help decide a long list of local, state and federal elections, as well as decide on an extension of a special purpose local option sales tax (SPLOST) for county and city projects.

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   ROYSTON – The City of Royston will dedicate its new amphitheater at the Royston Wellness and Community Park Sunday. A gospel show and fireworks display will officially open the new venue that city officials hope will be a drawing card for Royston.

FCHS One Act Play troupe wins fourth straight region title

From staff reports   CARNESVILLE – Franklin County theater students murdered the competition at Saturday’s Region 8AAA One Act Play competition with their performance of “Sweeney Todd, School Edition.” The performance of the Tony Award-winning play took first place in 8AAA.
