CARNESVILLE – Franklin County’s Special Olympics were held Friday at Franklin County High School’s Jeff Davis Field at Ed Bryant Stadium for the first time in five years. The event was coordinated by Adapted Physical Education teacher and Special Olympics coordinator Amber Adams.
Commendations were given out to two Lavonia Police officers Monday at the Lavonia City Council meeting.

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   CARNESVILLE – A citizens’ group formed to look at changes to the county’s Unified Development Code presented its first set of findings to Franklin County commissioners Tuesday. There will be more, the group said.
The intersection at U.S. Highway 29 and Georgia Highway 145 in Franklin Springs will be changed to a three-way stop by mid-April, the Georgia DOT announced.

By Gillian Raese Staff Writer   CARNESVILLE – Franklin County High School’s senior class participated in the first Life Skills 4 Lions day Thursday. The all-day event, funded by the school’s charter funds, was a full day of practical learning and life skills for the students.
