By Shane Scoggins Publisher   CARNESVILLE – A citizens’ group formed to look at changes to the county’s Unified Development Code presented its first set of findings to Franklin County commissioners Tuesday. There will be more, the group said.
The intersection at U.S. Highway 29 and Georgia Highway 145 in Franklin Springs will be changed to a three-way stop by mid-April, the Georgia DOT announced.

By Gillian Raese Staff Writer   FRANKLIN SPRINGS – Shannon Crabb, superintendent at Highland Walk Golf Course at Victoria Bryant State Park, was recognized as Golf Superintendent of the Year at the Georgia State Park and Historic Site Rangers Conference held last month at Unicoi State Park.

FCHS seniors learn adulting skills

By Gillian Raese Staff Writer   CARNESVILLE – Franklin County High School’s senior class participated in the first Life Skills 4 Lions day Thursday. The all-day event, funded by the school’s charter funds, was a full day of practical learning and life skills for the students.

Lavonia Boat Expo returns to downtown Saturday

LAVONIA – Saturday’s Lavonia Boat Expo promises to be the largest and best ever with more boats, exhibitors and activities.  The March 18 boat show will be on East and West Main streets and at the Gazebo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Admission is free and there is plenty of free parking available.
