Editor's note:  FRANKLIN SPRINGS – Franklin Springs will hold a special event July 27 for the city’s centennial. The city has plans for the “100 Years of Franklin Springs” celebration July 27 from 6-9 p.m. behind City Hall. The city turns 100 on July 22.

Crops hit hard by lack of rain, high temps

By Charlie Eavenson Staff Writer   For years, many Franklin County citizens have gotten fresh corn from Cole’s Sweet Corn farm in Sandy Cross.  Usually, corn is available from early June through the end of July, but not this year.

A full afternoon and evening of entertainment will be on stage Saturday at the City of Royston’s Freedom Celebration 24.  The free concert, being held in partnership with Georgia Legends Concert of Royston, will begin Saturday at 2 p.m. at the amphitheater at the Royston Wellness and Community Park.
