CARNESVILLE – The 62nd annual Commencement Exercise for Franklin County High School will be held Friday at 8 p.m.
The location of the ceremony, traditionally at Jeff Davis Field at Ed Bryant Stadium, will be determined today by school system officials.
Rain has been forecast, which could mean a moved to the Swails Center at Emmanuel University in Franklin Springs.
If the ceremony is moved to the Swails Center, seniors will receive six tickets each for the ceremony since it will be held inside.
A total of 228 members of the Class of 2026 are set to receive diplomas.
The ceremony will include speeches by valedictorian Easton Gailey, who will also provide the welcome as senior class president; and salutatorian Cohen Finger.
Ansley Murley will provide an inspirational message.
Finger will lead the pledge of allegiance as senior class vice president.
Savannah Blakely will sing the National Anthem, and Jonathan Dorn, Alice Tanner, Hallie Seymour, A.J. Lavergne, Cason Norwood and John Michael Rackley will lead the singing of the Alma Mater played by the Franklin County High School Band.
Superintendent Melanie Burton-Brown and Principal Matt Stowers will speak, present awards and diplomas.
