By Shane Scoggins Publisher   CARNESVILLE – Franklin County commissioners plan to vote Monday on a new radio system for emergency departments. Interim County Manager Terry Harris recommended Tuesday that the county buy a new system from Communications International at a cost of $7,633,881.42.

Easter brings busy weekend

From staff reports   A host of Easter events will be held this week and this weekend. Easter Egg Hunts and sunrise services will offer a celebration of the Easter holiday.
A day perfect for being at the lake was just as nice to spend time getting prepared for lake living at the Lavonia Boat Expo Saturday in downtown Lavonia. LAVONIA – A warm sunny day brought out a large crowd for Saturday’s Lavonia Boat Expo. New and antique boats in a variety of makes and models were on display along with products for recreation and leisure living.

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   ROYSTON – Royston City Manager Sharleen Ayers resigned Friday. Mayor Keith Turman announced at a called meeting Tuesday that Ayers had submitted a resignation letter and said, “Unfortunately it’s been accepted.” Turman thanked Ayers for her service to the city.
