LAVONIA – The fourth annual Northeast Georgia Hotrod Festival brought scores of classic car enthusiasts to downtown Lavonia Saturday. More than 100 cars, trucks and motorcycles were on display.

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   CARNESVILLE – Franklin County commissioners continued Tuesday to discuss options to expand county sewer lines to industrial property at Exit 160 on I-85.
The Franklin County Republican Party announced Tuesday that it will hold a second political forum for the runoff candidates June 6 from 6-8 p.m. at Franklin Springs City Hall.

From staff reports   CARNESVILLE – The Franklin County High School Class of 2024 will receive their diplomas Friday night in the school’s 60th Commencement Exercise. Graduation is scheduled to be held Friday at 8 p.m. on Jeff Davis Field at Ed Bryant Stadium.
The annual Memorial Day Ceremony will be held May 27 at 9 a.m. at the Memorial Plaza at the Franklin County Courthouse.

CARNESVILLE – The annual Memorial Day Ceremony will be held May 27 at 9 a.m. at the Memorial Plaza at the Franklin County Courthouse.  The annual event includes the reading of the names of local heroes who have died in our country’s wars and public safety workers who have died in the line of duty.

By Charlie Eavenson Staff Writer   CANON – Jacob Tompkins knew the odds of winning $1,000 would be pretty good last Saturday in Canon.  That’s because only five contestants showed up for the Canon Fire Department’s “Touch the Truck” fundraising event.
The last chance for Franklin County voters to cast ballots in local primaries will be Tuesday. Early voting for the May 21 primary ends Friday.
