Citizens wishing to run for local political office can officially begin launching their campaigns in a little over two weeks. Qualifying for local offices will begin March 4 at 9 a.m. and run through March 8 at noon.

Franklin County commissioners will vote Monday on a scaled-down amendment to the Unified Development Code. Commission Chairman Jeff Jacques announced Tuesday during a commissioners’ work session that the board would consider just two changes to the UDC in an amendment concerning residential zoning in the county.
