Franklin County School Superintendent Melanie Burton-Brown announced Tuesday that the final decisions on all hardship appeals regarding elementary school assignments have been made and communicated to the parents.

A man charged with the 2016 murder of Lavonia businessman Sam Harbin has agreed to a bench trial, which is scheduled for June 23 at 9:30 a.m. at the historic Franklin County Courthouse.
