CARNESVILLE – Classic cars and a cake walk that participants could dance to were just two of the attractions in the Carnesville Fall Festival over the weekend.

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   ROYSTON – Qualifying will open Monday in a special election for a seat on the Royston City Council. Candidates may sign up to run for the Post 2 seat Sept. 13-15 from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at Royston City Hall.
Overall, the cities reported an increase in population of 232 residents from the 2010 count.

By Samantha Sinclair Staff Writer   All three elementary schools now have a way for kids who are lonely at recess to make friends. Girl Scout Troop 12821 built and donated Buddy Benches to the schools’ playgrounds.

By Samantha Sinclair Staff Writer   CARNESVILLE — Franklin County Schools reported a major reduction Tuesday in the number of students quarantined. Out of 3,630 students, a total of 368 students were quarantined for possible exposure to COVID-19 or for testing positive for the virus.

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   ROYSTON – Paul Crawford will fill a temporary vacancy on the Royston City Council. Crawford, a retired businessman, was appointed Tuesday to the vacant Post 2 seat by vote of the council. “It’s an honor and a privilege,” Crawford said Wednesday of his appointment.
