By Shane Scoggins Publisher   ROYSTON – The search for Royston’s next city manager is moving along. The Royston City Council plans to meet later this month to interview candidates to replace current manager Ed Andrews, who will retire on Dec. 31.
A pig on the loose for months near the I-85 South ramp in Lavonia was captured Saturday by an area animal rescue group. The group named the animal “DD,” for Dunkin Donuts, which is near where the pig had been living.

Special auction raises $10,140 for Toys for Tots

By Samantha Sinclair Staff Writer   CARNESVILLE — Tuesday was a big day for the local Toys for Tots campaign. Franklin County Livestock’s annual auction for the campaign raised $5,070, and Franklin County Livestock matched the funds, bringing the total donated to $10,140.

Royston to finish parade season Saturday

From staff reports   Royston will cap off the Franklin County Christmas parade season Saturday evening. Royston’s Christmas Parade of Lights will be held Saturday at 5 p.m. The city planned its first Parade of Lights last year, but the parade was canceled due to concerns over the coronavirus.
