Royston to finish parade season Saturday

From staff reports   Royston will cap off the Franklin County Christmas parade season Saturday evening. Royston’s Christmas Parade of Lights will be held Saturday at 5 p.m. The city planned its first Parade of Lights last year, but the parade was canceled due to concerns over the coronavirus.

By Samantha Sinclair Staff Writer   LAVONIA — David Howell wanted to serve the community as a city council member right after he first moved here in the 1980s. He loved Lavonia, and wanted to see the city go in the right direction. “I’m just a people person,” Howell said.

From staff reports   The Christmas spirit will continue to make its Franklin County debut for 2021 over the next week. The cities of Canon, Royston and Lavonia have each held celebrations for the lighting of their respective Christmas trees.
