Toys for Tots expects greater need this year

By Samantha Sinclair Staff Writer   Last year, Toys for Tots made sure 2,156 kids in Franklin, Hart and Elbert counties received a toy on Christmas morning. Local coordinator Mike Prather thinks the need is going to be even greater this year.

600-plus run at Pridelands Invitational

Toccoa man arrested for home invasion

From staff reports   CARNESVILLE – A Toccoa man has been arrested for a home invasion Saturday in the Plainview community. Allijah Timothy Banks, 33, of Toccoa, was arrested in Athens Sunday. He has been charged with felony home invasion, armed robbery and burglary.

By Beau Evans Capitol Beat News Service The long winter of COVID-19 looks to be coming to an end in Georgia.   All Georgians age 16 and older will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine starting this Thursday, March 25, Gov. Brian Kemp announced Tuesday.

The Franklin County Board of Elections and Registration will begin retallying votes in the race Monday at 9 a.m. at the elections office at 7850 Royston Road in Carnesville.
