CARNESVILLE – It was a beautiful day, in more ways than the weather, for Franklin County Special Olympics Day Thursday. The event kicked off with opening ceremonies at 10 a.m. on Jeff Davis Field at Ed Bryant Stadium on the campus of Franklin County High School.

By Shane ScogginsPublisher ROYSTON – Bingo is coming to Royston.Beginning April 2, the City of Royston will offer weekly Bingo games on Thursday evenings at the Depot downtown.“I want it to be something fun for the community,” Royston MainStreet Director Kelly King said.

Student remembers classes at historic Plainview School

By Charlie EavensonStaff Writer CARNESVILLE –  More than a dozen concerned citizens, mostly members of the Franklin County Historical Society, came Saturday to help clean up around the historic Plainview School building on Old Federal Road near Carnesville.But a surprise visitor also stopped by.

From staff reports CARNESVILLE – The Franklin County Historical Society will hold a clean-up day Saturday at the old Plainview School building at 13001 Old Federal Road in Carnesville.Work is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
