By Rose Scoggins Special to the Citizen Leader   CANON – The Canon City Council voted Thursday to increase prices for water taps and bores during a called meeting. The increase is needed due to higher prices of materials, city officials said.

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   CARNESVILLE – The Carnesville City Council will vote in April on whether or not to annex and rezone 155 acres just outside the current city limits for a new subdivision.

The Franklin County Middle School Technology Student Association (TSA) chapter brought home a host of awards from the group’s State Leadership Conference held March 16–19 at the Classic Center in Athens.

From staff reports   LAVONIA — The 2022 Lavonia Boat Expo will come to downtown Lavonia this weekend, one week later than originally planned. A cold, blustery Saturday forced organizers of the event to push the event back a week. The Boat Expo will be March 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

By Samantha Sinclair Staff Writer   LAVONIA — By this time next year, the Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter could have a new place for dogs to stay as they await adoption. The shelter board, staff and supporters broke ground Thursday afternoon for a new building.
