FCMS TSA brings home host of state awards

The Franklin County Middle School Technology Student Association (TSA) chapter brought home a host of awards from the group’s State Leadership Conference held March 16–19 at the Classic Center in Athens.

TSA is dedicated for students enrolled in engineering and technology education pathway programs.

TSA chapters prepare students to be successful inventors, designers, creative problem solvers, responsible citizens and leaders in a technological society.

At state conference, FCMS came in fourth for Outstanding Chapter, which is determined by their combined conference scores.

The awards captured by the FCMS TSA members were:

• First in Chapter Team – Taylor Haley, Emma Maisonneuve, Johnny Nguyen, Noah Roberson, Allen Tollison, Ella Maisonneuve;

• First in Promotional Marketing – Autumn Mealor;

• First in Structural Engineering – Daniel Tran, Johnny Nguyen;

• Second in Children’s Stories – Emma Maisonneuve, Autumn Mealor, Grace Poole, Allen Tollison;

• Second in GATSA Outstanding Student – Taylor Haley;

• Second in Mass Production – Noah Roberson, Lisandro Escanuela, Grace Poole;

• Second in Technical Design – Rob Tate, Emma Maisonneuve;

• Third in Flight – Grace Poole;

• Third in Junior Solar Sprint – Allen Tollison, Daniel Tran;

• Fourth in Biotechnology – Taylor Haley, Johnny Nguyen, Daniel Tran;

• Fourth in CAD Foundations – Daniel Tran;

• Fourth in Dragster –Allen Tollison;

• Fourth in Forensic Technology – Johnny Nguyen, Ella Maisonneuve
