From staff reports   CARNESVILLE – The Franklin County Middle School FFA Chapter was again named the best middle school chapter in the country last week.

By Shane Scoggins Publisher   ROYSTON – The City of Royston will dedicate its new amphitheater at the Royston Wellness and Community Park Sunday. A gospel show and fireworks display will officially open the new venue that city officials hope will be a drawing card for Royston.

FCHS One Act Play troupe wins fourth straight region title

From staff reports   CARNESVILLE – Franklin County theater students murdered the competition at Saturday’s Region 8AAA One Act Play competition with their performance of “Sweeney Todd, School Edition.” The performance of the Tony Award-winning play took first place in 8AAA.

College and Career Center helps students with next step

Lavonia to host third annual clean up day

By Samantha Sinclair Staff Writer   Lavonia — City residents will have the opportunity to get rid of old furniture, toilets, appliances and other household trash items at the city’s free clean-up day Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the city shop at 33 Allen Farm Road.
