Pilgrim's pulls rendering plant plan, then reapplies prior to moratorium vote
Pilgrim’s Pride resubmitted its applications Tuesday to build a $70 million rendering plant near Carnesville. The company refiled its requests just five days after withdrawing its original application and only about three hours before Franklin County commissioners took action that would have prevented Pilgrim’s from refiling until the summer, if at all.
Zoning and permit applications submitted to Franklin County to allow the construction of a $70 million poultry rendering plant to make pet food ingredients were withdrawn last week by Pilgrim’s Pride but then resubmitted Tuesday just three hours before commissioners voted to impose a moratorium on such applications.
