The Nov. 8 general election includes a race for Franklin County Commission Chairman and a county-wide referendum to extend a special purpose local option sales tax (SPLOST) for county and city projects.

In addition, the ballot will include state races for U.S. Senate and U.S. Representative, along with those for Governor and other statewide offices.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Canon voters will go to Canon Baptist Church, the new polling place for that precinct.

Other precincts are:

• Lavonia – Lavonia Community Center;

• Royston – Royston Depot;

• Carnesville – Carnesville Fire Department;

• Northeast – Pleasant Hill Baptist Church;

• Southwest – Sandy Cross Fire Department; and

• West – New Bethel Baptist Church.

 

Absentee voting

The deadline to request an absentee ballot has passed. Absentees must be returned by Election Day.

Early voting

Early voting was held at the Franklin County Elections and Registration Office at 7850 Royston Road in Carnesville.

The office was open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day.

In addition, early voting was open on two Saturdays, Oct. 22 and Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day, also at the elections office.

The last day for early voting was Nov. 4.
