LAVONIA – On Aug. 19, the Lavonia Downtown Development Authority will host its second annual Hippie Fest at the Gazebo in downtown Lavonia.
The Hippie Fest will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will offer visitors a chance to take a trip back in time to the days of peace, love and bell bottoms.
A DJ will be on hand to play favorite tunes from the 60s and a costume contest will start at 10:30 a.m.
Children can cool off in the massive pile of foam provided by Foamtastic.
Attendees may bring a T-shirt and stop by the tie-dye station and the rock painting booth.
Craft vendors will be on site as well.
New this year will be a “Bug Out!” It is a VW-centered cruise-in. Anyone with a vintage Volkswagen is invited.
