Planning board to hold Pilgrim’s hearing May 19

The Franklin County Planning Commission will meet May 19 for a hearing and  meeting to consider Pilgrim’s Pride’s zoning and permit applications to build a $70 million rendering plant near Carnesville. The hearing and meeting will begin at 5 p.m. at the Franklin County Agriculture Center on the high school campus to allow for an expected large number of attendees and speakers. It will be the second round of hearings held by the Planning Commission on the project.
