UPDATE FRIDAY, May 21:
Franklin County commissioners announced Friday that their June 7 public hearing and meeting concerning Pilgrim's Pride will be held at 5 p.m. at the Franklin County Agriculture Center, as was originally planned when the meeting was announced.
The county announced and advertised earlier this week that the meetings would be moved to the Lavonia Cultural Center, but that decision has been retracted.
Franklin County Manager Derrick Turner said Friday that the county learned that to legally move the meeting to Lavonia, the hearing and meeting would have to be moved to a different date.
An advertisement announcing that the June 7 hearing and meeting will be held at the Franklin County Agriculture Center at Franklin County High School will be in next week's issue of the Franklin County Citizen Leader.
