LAVONIA – The Lavonia Downtown Development Authority hosted its second annual Hippie Fest Saturday in downtown Lavonia. Visitors got the chance to take a trip back in time to the days of peace, love and bell bottoms. A DJ played favorite tunes from the 60s. A costume contest was held, and children got the chance to play in a massive pile of foam provided by Foamtastic. Attendees were able to make a tie-dye T-shirt, get a temporary tattoo and paint a rock. A VW-centered cruise in was also part of the day, and a variety of craft and food vendors were on hand.
