Training the next generation of firefighters

    CARNESVILLE – Junior Firefighter Day was held last week at the Carnesville Fire Department. Children learned basic first aid, CPR, how to escape a house on fire and got to use the tools firefighters use in emergencies. The event — hosted by Carnesville Fire Department, Red Hill Fire Department and Smitty’s BBQ — was the first of its kind in Carnesville, and attracted 18 participatants. Those who helped make the day a success included Smitty’s BBQ, Georgia Poultry, AutoZone Distribution, Precision Towing, and Living Comfort Heating and Air.
