ROYSTON – The City of Royston is celebrating Georgia Cities Week.
The city is in the midst of a variety of events throughout the week, including a community planning session and a Fun Day at the Royston Wellness and Community Park.
The theme of this year's Georgia Cities Week is “Shaping the Future.”
Events planned for the week are:
• Daily Scavenger Hunt.
Clues are being posted each morning through Friday, on the “Royston Georgia” Facebook page.
The first person to post a selfie at the correct location will win a prize.
• Community Fun Day.
The Fun Day will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Royston Wellness and Community Park.
Activities will include a Touch-a-Truck with city vehicles, a chance to meet city staff members, a children's inflatable slide and train rides, a coloring contest, balloons and give-aways.
A hot dog lunch will be provided and served by the mayor and city council.
The city also held a meeting Tuesday to get ideas from citizens, leaders and business people about what they would like to see in Royston in the future.
