LAVONIA – A Lavonia man was arrested Thursday on multiple drug charges.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Hart County Sheriff’s Office and the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) conducted a search Thursday at 57 Wesleyan St. in Lavonia, a press release from the ARDEO said.
Officers made contact with William Perkins, 45, of the Lavonia residence.
During the search, a trafficking amount of suspected methamphetamine, many hydrocodone pills and a quantity of marijuana was found in the residence, according to the press release.
Perkins was arrested on the same date for trafficking methamphetamine, possession of Schedule II narcotics and criminal attempt to possess marijuana.
The investigation is still active and ongoing.

The Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office is a multi-agency unit that consists of the White County, Lumpkin County, Banks County, Jackson County, Habersham County, Stephens County, Rabun County, Franklin County, Gilmer County and Fannin County sheriff’s offices, along with the Cleveland and Toccoa police departments, the Georgia National Guard Counter Drug Task Force, Georgia State Patrol, Georgia Department of Community Supervision and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
