FRANKLIN SPRINGS – Dr. Doris Cato was recently selected in a random drawing to receive winnings from the Ark’s 50/50 raffle.
The raffle raised a total of nearly $9,000 to help with building the much-needed new facility for The Ark Family Preservation Center.
“Dr. Cato expressed her appreciation for her selection but wished for the entirety of the raffle contributions to remain with the Ark,” said Dr. John Henzel, Ark board member and treasurer.
With about $50,000 remaining to reach the Ark’s building goal of $1 million, Dr. Beverly Oxley, Ark Founder and CEO, continues to share her gratitude for contributions, especially for what she has called a miracle year of giving in 2021 when $545,000 was raised.
“We are so thankful for the community's support to make this dream a reality,” Oxley said. “We are working hard to complete the much needed new facility to better serve our 10-county area.”
Ark staff members facilitate supervised visitations for children in foster care and provide training and classes for parents while supporting families in crises.
The Ark Family Preservation Center is very close to reaching its financial goal to have the new facility, which is under construction, completed this summer to serve more families in the area.
