CARNESVILLE – The Carnesville Lions Club will hold its 70th year charter celebration on Feb. 5.
Lions and friends will gather Feb. 5 from 3-5 p.m. at the Carnesville Community Center to celebrate 70 years of service to the community.
The Carnesville club was chartered with the sponsorship of the Lavonia Lions Club and rechartered after World War II on Jan. 5, 1953.
All are welcomed to attend the free celebration.
The club will accept contributions for Lions projects at the celebration.
Carnesville Lions have sponsored the Carnesville Boy Scout Troop 42 and Cub Scout Pack 42 for more than 60 years, as well as Lions Lighthouse, Camp for the Blind in Waycross, the Leader Dog for the Blind and other Lions projects.
Lions Club International is the largest service organization in the world and the Carnesville Lions have long contributed much to the community.
